Some diseases are highly contagious. To reduce their rates of transmission and their levels of incidence, people sometimes resort to the method of isolation. People who are infected are identified, isolated, and maintained on minimum human contact. Even though this may not favour them emotionally (and sometimes spiritually), it’s accepted for the sake of the greater good: protecting many more people. This is especially to do with diseases of the body.
There are some other diseases which are more prevalent, virulent and infectious. They’re more emotional and spiritual. They include such things as poor attitudes, dispositions, unforgiveness, hatred, jealousy, etc. We couldn’t possibly use the method of identification and isolation- else every individual would be locked up in their own cell! The solution is for each of us to seek healing. Compassion, acceptance, and unconditional love set a good foundation for this healing to take place. Jesus Christ offers us perfect healing and restoration to wholeness.
May Jesus Christ, the Restorer to all goodness, restore us to perfect rhythm. May He heal all kinds of leprosy affecting us.
