Generally, each of us is called to do something, to make a contribution to the world. We’re called to win some victory for the universe. Even when this may imply proclamation of messages from Power beyond us. Sometimes, we look for excuses not to do what we’re called to do. We fall or settle for the lesser endeavours, the ones that seem easier. And our excuses may sound legitimate and rational.
The effort needed is humongous. The reward doesn’t seem worth it. We’re still responsible for the welfare of our family and relatives (or we still want to please them). We’re already masters of our current trades and we’re not yet ready to leave. Conversion requires of us tremendous changes. Or maybe we’re entangled by so many of our current nets. No matter how legit these excuses seem, doing what God calls us to do, and fulfilling it well, is the path to authentic satisfaction.
May Jesus Christ grant us the grace to fulfill the call upon our lives. May the Word of God transform us greatly.
