Wednesday April 27@3pm:
Makerere University v Mbarara University of Science & Technology
Makerere University will be out to boost their chances of finishing top of the table when they host Mbarara University of Science & Technology in the Pepsi University Football League (UFL) on Wednesday, April 27.
The game at Makerere University playground kicks off at 3pm.
Coach William Kasozi, whose Makerere side narrowly won (1-0) their fixture against YMCA on match day one, is optimistic about securing all three points from this game.
“This is a game we need to win because we have some important away games after this which might not be so easy so we need to win this one at home,” Kasozi said during a pre-match media conference on Tuesday, April 26.
He added: “Mbarara is not an easy team so we shall not underrate them. But because we are playing from home we think we shall have a very good chance of winning the game. The boys are fit and ready.”
On the opposite end, Mbarara University’s coach Muhammad Kyagambidwa said the game will not be easy but it is one they need to go and win if they are to stand a chance of progressing this season.
“As Mbarara, we are not just here to participate. We are here to compete and this is one of those games that you need to face head on,” Kyagambidwa said.
“Makerere is a tough opponent especially away but I know if we are focused we can come and away with something from the game,” he added.
Meanwhile, Makerere University Business School (MUBS) beat Nkumba University 1-0 in a game played on Tuesday (April 26) afternoon at Nakawa. Stuart Magumba scored the lone winner in the 27th minute of the closely-contested game.
