KAMPALA: The Flying Squad Unit, has intensified its operations on Boda Boda gangs actively involved in violent attacks against pedestrians and victims on motorcycles.
As of a press statement issued on Monday, March 7, 2022, 13 notorious suspects, have been so far arrested including two robbers who formed part of the gang that attacked Dawit Kasa, an Ethiopian Diplomatic, along Prince Charles Avenue – Kololo on February 25, 2022.
Police Spokesperson CP Fred Enanga said the arrested suspects include Abdulraman Bakata aka. Pancho, Gordon Segirinya, Abdullar Mugerwa aka. Musilamu, Augustine Wanada aka. Zewu, Emmanuel Nsubuga, Michael Mukasa aka. Layiti, Emmanuel Mukasa, Ivan Muwada, Joseph Bukyeire, Derrick Tomusange, Ashraf Sonko, Kintu Mwamadi and Huudu Nsubuga.
“The suspects are highly linked to the violent attacks and robberies of innocent victims in Kololo, City Centre especially on William and Wilson street, Industrial area, Kabalagala, Kawempe, Kisenyi, Nansana, Namirembe road, Luzira, Bugolobi, Kireka and Jinja city,” Enanga added.
Enanga also noted that an assortment of exhibits were recovered in the robbers’ respective places of abode and other hideouts. The recovered items include mobile phones, laptops and other electronic gadgets.
“Also recovered are jackets and overcoats that were used by Pancho and Segirinya in the recent attack in Kololo,” he added.
Also it has been noted that all the seven motorcycles used in the robberies, were identified and blacklisted.
Meanwhile, Flying Squad unit continues to intensify efforts to trace for the outstanding suspects, believed to have been involved in various acts of violence and impunity against pedestrians.

As of now, Flying Squad Unit has continued to reassure the public that they will investigate all reports of robbery and work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice.
