CAESAR’S SUNDAY THOUGHT
Deacon Julius Caesar Kamukama, a professional pharmacist is a clergy of the Archdiocese of Mbarara.
Readings Josh 5:9a, 10-12. 2Cor 5:17-21. Lk 15:1-3, 11-32
Sometimes in the course of our lives, we may walk away from what’s best for us, thinking we know better. We reject the authority of God, of human figures such as parents and leaders, and of institutions. Even though we may acknowledge God’s supreme authority, we sometimes walk away from what we believe he’s proposing to us. We may even think that He’s an oppressive Father!!
And then we realise we’re walking into less than desirable situations. If we’re honest to ourselves, we’ll realise that sin hurts us first, before anyone else. We can then choose to walk back into the love we walked away from. Other people who think they’re better than us may judge us in different ways, but it doesn’t matter. What matters is that we’re loved. And we’re back where we belong.
May Jesus Christ grant us the gift of faith in a loving Father. May this faith transform our relationship with the Father’s other children.
May Almighty God bless you, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
