Each one of us is potentially destined for eternal glory. The glimpses of glory that we get on earth are only pointers to something greater. We do ourselves a disservice when we get attached to these temporary manifestations of glory, when we focus on the signs instead of what’s signified. The prestige, pleasure, possessions, positions, etc are not ends in themselves.
These temporary manifestations of glory are to help us ultimately attain lasting glory after having accomplished our mission here on earth. They’re progressive preparation and empowerment for service at a higher level, with increased drive, efficiency and effectiveness. Such manifestations ought to help their subject to listen more, and put into practice what has been heard. They’re assurances of resurrection and glorification regardless how painful the passion may be.
May Jesus Christ grant us the grace to focus on the depth and quality of our relationship with God. May the improved quality of this relationship manifestly spill over into our relationships with fellow humanity.
May Almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
