One common tendency in life is to look at oneself as better than some other people. This is the source of being proud and judgemental. We forget that each person is on a personal journey, responding to what call they tend to perceive at the moment as best as they can.
Such an attitude hinders us from perceiving the gift that others are. We focus our resources on showing how much is missing in their lives, and trying to show how full we are! This also hinders us from ministering love to others, for, how can we minister love when our hearts are full of pride and self-illusion?
May Jesus Christ grant us the grace to focus on continually becoming better ourselves, instead of focusing on others’ shortcomings.
