KAMPALA: Uganda Police has commended Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU), a leading beverage company in Uganda for the extended support at the June 3, 2023, Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations.
The multinational corporation donated over 100 cartons of water and beverages to Police Traffic Officers stationed on different routes to Namugongo Martyrs Shrine.
CCBU’s support ensured that hardworking Traffic Police Officers stationed on the different routes of Namugongo were adequately refreshed and hydrated throughout the event.
According to SSP Rogers Nsereko Kauma, the Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander, the donation aided the dedicated officers to carry out their job effectively.
“Such support makes our teams work better by keeping us cool and hydrated in the heat. We appreciate Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda for reaching out to support Uganda Police to run its operations effectively,” SSP Kauma said.
Revealing intentions behind Coca-Cola’s support towards Uganda Police, Kirunda Magoola, the Public Affairs Communication and Sustainability Director of CCBU said, “We know that supporting the traffic officers to effectively conduct their duty triggers a ripple effect by easing movement and ensuring safety for road users and attending pilgrims”.
