A man in Namisindwa district has torched his house accusing his wife of infidelity. The suspect, Martine Kituyi is a resident of Bumusomi village, Buwambigwa parish, Buwambwa Sub County, Namisindwa district.
Dan Wakuma, an eye witness says that Kituyi had a heated argument with his wife only identified as Anent, over the weekend. Kituyi accused her of providing food to men in the neighborhood whom he suspected of having a romantic interest in her.
Wakuma further states that Kituyi became furious and torched the grass-thatched house while his wife and children were inside. Fortunately, the quick response of their neighbors saved the lives of his wife and children. Joseph Sitawa, the LCI chairperson of Bumusomi village, confirmed the incident and expressed relief that the wife and children were rescued.
Unfortunately, all household items such as mattresses, plates, and clothes were completely destroyed in the fire. Kituyi, on the other hand, has vanished and is currently hiding in Kalangala. Sitawa cautioned married couples against resorting to domestic violence and urged them to report their conflicts to local leaders or the police for assistance.
