The Uganda Cranes had a feel of Algeria after holding their first training session in Annaba on Thursday, January 12 as they prepare for the opening match against DR Congo at the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Finals.
Coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic and his technical staff took Cranes players through training drills on Thursday at the Stade Chabbou in Annaba, where Uganda will play their Group B games against DR Congo, Ivory Coast and Senegal.
The Cranes’ first game against DR Congo is scheduled for Saturday, January 14.
Before flying to Algeria on Wednesday (January 11), the Cranes camped in neighbouring Tunisia for eleven days in which they also played friendly matches against Sudan, Cameroon and Mali.
The Cranes are appearing at the CHAN Finals for the sixth consecutive time and will be out to break the jinx of failing to go past the group stages.
Hosts Algeria play Libya in the tournament opening game on Friday, January 13 in Algeria, the capital.
