Readings: Acts 1:1-11. Eph 1:17-23. Mt 28:16-20
Depending on our various states in life, we have various callings upon our lives. The divine call is followed by a particular kind of anointing. Sometimes, we’re so anointed that we lose track of what the anointing was for in the first place. We end up focusing on the material restoration of the kingdom.
Essentially, the anointing that accompanies our various calls is to enable us fulfill our mandate. We’re taught so we can teach what we’ve learnt. We’re thus empowered so that we can, in our particular contexts, lead others into the fulfilment of their own mandate, and finally attain Fulfillment. The Master entrusts his mission to his disciples before he ascends. Our focus ought to be the concrete realisation of the Kingdom.
May the never parting presence of Jesus Christ empower us to do great things for the Kingdom of God.
