Ordinarily, an authentic prophet is God’s mouthpiece no matter the platform from which the message is proclaimed. The prophet is thus expected to convey to the people what God intends for them to hear. Even when God communicates what people NEED to hear at a given time or season, the messages are not always welcomed because they appear to disrupt the status quo. They may demand that people move out of their comfort zones and give up convenience. They may sting their pride, or wound their egos, or expose their wounds (for healing! ). That’s why, sometimes, the people may turn around and kill their prophets (like it happens in our society).
God may be sending you as a prophet to His people to speak to specific situations, whether secular (such as politics and governance) or spiritual, or in any other arena. Are you attentive enough to hear the call? Will you accept it? Do you have the courage to say what you’re convinced is the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable or inconvenient (or even dangerous)? Will you be motivated by love or fear (fear brings forth selfishness)?
May Jesus Christ grant us the grace to be true to our specific vocations, no matter how difficult.
May Almighty God bless you, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
