As Jinja College (Jico) League second season gets away on Saturday, November 25, Mas Group of Companies, a business conglomerate with interests in information technology, branding, sports, transport and logistics, tracking and security, has announced that it is sponsoring Team Kaboige, Mbokya FC and Nvuluga FC, which are participating in the league.
In this interview, Mr Yunus Masaba, the Founder and CEO Mas Group Africa, also President Jinja College Old Boys Association, shares his views about the support for the Jico League and future plans.
1. What do you have for the Jico League in season 2?
As we anticipate the kickoff of another thrilling season in the Jico League, Mas Group Africa is unwavering in its commitment to championing the spirit of sports through strategic sponsorships. Building upon the success of the previous season, where we proudly supported two teams, this season marks an even more significant stride as we embrace the role of main shirt sponsors for an expanded roster of three additional teams: Mbokya FC, Kaboige FC, and Nvuluga SC. These partnerships, meticulously facilitated by Track 24 and Mas Group Africa, underscore our dedication to realizing the league’s objectives and nurturing a heightened sense of competition. Notably, our subsidiary, Volta Arena Kyanja, proudly stands as the league’s home, solidifying our enduring partnership with the Jico League.
2. Where do you benefit from?
In the wake of sponsoring two teams during the previous season, Mas Group Africa and Track 24 have reaped substantial rewards from the heightened brand visibility. The strategic placement of our logos on the jerseys of diverse teams has resulted in widespread recognition, reaching a diverse audience that proudly wears these jerseys. Beyond mere visibility, our prominent presence on league artworks has further elevated our brand. However, the advantages extend beyond the surface level, as we actively foster community engagement and enhance brand association, thereby broadening our overall reach.
Expanding our horizons, Track 24 has forged a dynamic partnership with the Butiki League, introducing the “Track 24 Man of the Match” award and providing sponsorship to Window FC. Additionally, our commitment to grassroots football is evident through the sponsorship of the Chaapa League via Volta Arena. This diverse portfolio underscores our holistic dedication to supporting sports at various levels.
3. Where do you see the Jico League in the next 3 seasons?
Mas Group Africa envisions the Jico League ascending to unprecedented heights over the next three seasons. The league’s upward trajectory, coupled with strategic partnerships and sustained investments, promises to propel it toward achieving lofty goals and objectives. Anticipate heightened competitiveness and expanded audience engagement as we not only seek to promote sports but also aim to become a catalyst for social networking. Envision a league that transcends the boundaries of the field, evolving into a dynamic platform for Jinja College Old Boys to connect, network, showcase talent, and set the standard for sporting excellence. We eagerly anticipate being a part of this remarkable journey, contributing to the transformation of the Jico League into a beacon of sporting and community excellence.
