KAMPALA: The Stanbic Uganda Cup draw for the round-of-32 produced an eye-catching fixture, pitying traditional rivals Express FC and SC Villa against each other.
The draw was conducted Friday, February 11 morning at Fufa House in Mengo, Kampala.
However, before taking on Express, SC Villa must first clear the hurdle in Super Eagles in a delayed round-of-64 match. Villa are overwhelmingly favoured to eliminate lower division Super Eagles and take on Express in the round of 32 tie to be played between February 21 and 27.
Based on their huge success in the tournament, Express and Villa are poised to serve a thrilling match. Express have won the competition 10 times compared to Villa’s nine cups.
The other interesting ties from the draw include KCC FC against Bright Stars and Mbarara City FC against URA FC.
The prestigious annual knockout tournament is sponsored by Stanbic bank and Plascon Paint.
