Suspected ADF rebels killed a woman and abducted another person in Nkoko Village, Kitswamba Sub-County Kasese district Wednesday night.
The Acting Rwenzori East Region Police spokesperson, SP. Luke Mbusa, has identified the deceased as 35-year-old Betty Biira, a resident of Nkoko and the abducted as Gaston Agaba.
He added the suspected assailants also injured a 13-year-old nephew of the deceased noting that another person identified as Julius Byaruhanga managed to escape as they were being led into Queen Elizabeth Nation Park.
Harison Mubunga who survived the attack, said the assailants hacked the deceased to death using an axe and machetes. He noted that the group of about five men stormed the area demanding phones and food. However, the family could not meet their demands.
On Monday, the police released photographs of three wanted terror suspects. The other two are Ismail Mutegule and Abdallah Kala. This was after two blasts went off simultaneously at around 9 pm at Kikubamutwe in Kabalagala and another in Nabweru in Nansana Municipality on Saturday.
According to the Joint Security Spokesperson, Fred Enanga the trio is considered dangerous, and armed. He asked the public to provide information leading to their arrest.
