Police and the Military on Thursday intercepted about 15 protesters marching to Parliament to show their displeasure against corruption.
The group, which carrying placards, was chanting ‘Anita Must Go’.
“This is our 1986. We must be heard because we matter. The corrupt are messing with the wrong generation,” they chanted along Nasser and Nkurumah roads in Kampala.
However, they were intercepted at Railway Grounds below Jinja Road, just 100 meters from Parliament’s main gate.
The police and the military put them on their pickup trucks and taken to CPS. Some lawyers were seen at CPS trying to access the arrested group.
This comes a day after police and the military foiled a planned press conference by the organisers of the March to Parliament protest in Ntinda, a Kampala suburb.
It is thought that the press conference was going to announce another round of demonstrations after foiling the one of Tuesday, July 23.
About 50 organizers and participants in the protests were arrested, arraigned in court, and charged with being a common nuisance and being idle and disorderly. They were remanded.
Earlier, the police and the military also foiled the planned press conference by the National Unity Platform party after besieging the party headquarters and arresting several party leaders, including MPs.
