The Police in Busoga North, have arrested five people for allegedly having links with the Allied Democratic Forces-ADF rebels in Kaliro District.

The suspects who are detained at Kaliro Central Police Station include; Andrew Kaamu, Bashir Baligeya, Michael Waiswa, Sharifu Namugire, and Lydia Mukyala.

Their arrest followed complaints from residents of Namukooge trading center, in Namugongo sub-county, who allege that the suspects were indoctrinating juveniles between the ages of 5 and 12 in Mukyala’s house. These actions raised suspicion among residents who alerted security personnel.

Irene Musekwa, a resident says that the suspects led quiet lives, but the teachings that were conducted during the night caused fear among the residents.
