Ugandan league champions Vipers SC marched past Olympic Real de Bangui with an aggregate 4-0 victory after winning the return leg game 1-0 on Saturday, September 17 in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
Going into the return leg, Vipers had a 3-0 lead from the first leg match played a week earlier in Brazzaville. The Venoms secured another victory over the Bangui side on Saturday evening, thanks to Yunus Sentamu’s first-half goal at the St Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
Vipers will now face an uphill task against TZ Mazembe of DR Congo in the next round.
Meanwhile, BUL FC, Uganda’s other representative on the continent, were shown the exit by Egyptian side, Future FC, from the CAF Confederation Cup.
The two sides drew 0-0 in the first leg game at Kitende on September 10 but Future FC won the return leg game 1-0 on Saturday (September 17) night in Egypt.
