KAMPALA: Uganda Premier League side BUL FC advanced into the round-of-32 without breaking any sweat after their scheduled opponents in the Stanbic Uganda Cup failed to show up for their match on Tuesday, January 18.
The game in Bundibugyo was one of the matches in the round-of-64, but the unexplained reasons fourth division side, Bundimasolo, who were supposed to host BUL did not show up. BUL got a walkover to the next round-of-32.
In the other games on Tuesday, Gaddafi FC, another Uganda Premier League side, eliminated Heros FC 5-3 in a penalty shootout after they drew 0-0 in full time at Lira grounds.
Booma FC dumped Nyamityobora FC after an emphatic 4-1 victory in a game played in Masindi while in Kabarole, Rusekere Growers FC beat visiting Kataka FC 1-0 to advance.
Action continues Wednesday, January 19 with three games on the menu.
In Mukono, Buganda Regional League side, Seeta United host North East Regional League side, Tepa FC. In Kajjansi, Fufa Big League side MYDA FC from Tororo visit Regional League side Kajjansi United while in Mityana, Uganda Premier League outfit Wakiso Giants visit Regional League side Kiyinda Boys FC.
All games kick off at 3pm.
