Adam Mulwana, an artiste who recorded the political hit song ‘Toka kwa barabara’ for the former presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye, is dead.
Mulwana aged 36, passed on Tuesday morning Mulwana to an ailment suspected to be leukaemia, which doctors are yet to confirm.
Several opposition leaders, including Besigye, took to social media to pay tribute to the deceased.
Besigye has mourned the deceased as an intelligent and creative man.
Bobi Wine mọ́urned the passing of Mulwana, whom he said dedicated his life to Uganda’s freedom struggle, expressing regret that Mulwana didn’t Iive to see the desired change in the country.
“I have received the very sad news of the passing of my friend, comrade Adam Mulwana, an artiste and political activist who dedicated his life to the cause for the freedom of Uganda. When I last interacted with him, he was as devoted to the struggle as ever, despite his ailing health.
Such a pity he has passed on without seeing the kind of country he so much desired to live in. The best we can do for him is to accomplish the mission for which he sacrificed immensely. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya added: “Very sad to wake up to the news of the passing of our comrade Adam Mulwana who sang #TokaKwaBalabala. He was an impassioned fighter for justice and dignity for the people of Uganda. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
