The knockout Uganda Cup quarterfinal games kick off Wednesday, April 12 with holders BUL FC taking on Police FC at the Kavumba Recreation grounds in Wakiso.
Despite their recent poor form in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, BUL are still favourites to retain the cup. In the last round of the cup, they dumped former winners SC Villa on a 1-0 victory.
On the other hand, Police, who feature in the lower division FUFA Big League, will be desperate to advance into the semis as they seek to win the elusive Uganda Cup trophy in their history.
Police have won major titles such as the league and regional Cecafa but the Uganda Cup remains elusive for the cops.
In the other quarterfinal games, former winners Vipers SC will host lower division side, Calvary FC, at the St Mary’s stadium on Friday, April 14 while record ten-time winners Express FC travel to regional tier side Adjumani Town Council FC on Saturday, April 15.
KCCA FC, the joint ten-time record winners, face Bright Stars in the only all-StarTimes Uganda Premier League fixture on Sunday, April 16 at Kavumba.
