Our nature as living organisms demands of us nutrition. We must feed on something. Human beings, due to their vegetative, sentient and rational natures, have to feed not only the body, but also the mind. And then, importantly, they have to feed the spirit.
Nutrition requires that an organism feeds on what relates to its nature. The human beings require nutriment derived from soil for their soil nature, and spiritual nutriment for their spiritual part. The body of Christ is food for the spirit. Just as physical nourishment gives life to what’s physical within us, spiritual nourishment gives life to what’s spiritual. Just as physical malnutrition is bad for our bodies, so is spiritual malnutrition for our spirits.
May Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life, feed us to satisfaction.
