Readings: Is 49:3,5-6. 1Cor 1:1-3. Jn 1:29-34

Day by day, we’re greatly influenced by what fills us. The spirit that fills us is what moves us to make certain decisions. It gives us the drive to go forth and actually carry out these decisions. Our daily lives are testimony of the things that fill us, or at the least, the things that take up a big space in our lives.

Pride, for example, can so inflate a person as to exclude others. It points to the self. It doesn’t allow us to point out those who may rank ahead of us in some way. It doesn’t admit that there could be a better way than what we know, or someone better placed than us to do what needs to be done. It inhibits us from accepting the power of the Lamb to take away sin.

May Jesus Christ grant us the grace to testify to God’s goodness and love.
