There’s a special vocation for each one of us, a call upon each of our lives. This is for your good, and the good of others (it’s not just about you!). Our duty is to make an effort to discover it through a progressively closer relationship with God, the Source of this call. This is a continuous process of prayerful and reflective discernment. Once we’ve discovered even part of it, we then strive to respond to it as best as we can. What is it that God calls you to be, to do?
This call is personal, and not corporate. Knowing this implies that we have to mind about fulfilling what we’re convinced about. There’s no need to be insecure or jealous about other people’s particular vocations. Where do you even get the time and the energy to focus on other people’s calls? Doesn’t it imply you’re not really responding to yours?
May Jesus Christ, the perfect exemplar of fulfilling one’s purpose in life, grant us the grace to really focus on answering the call that God has placed upon our hearts.
And may Almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
