Kenya will mark her return to hosting international cricket after a decade by playing Nepal in the T20 series and one-day games, starting on Thursday, August 25 in Nairobi.
Nepal’s visit marks a return of hosting international sides for Kenya after a 10-year break.
The two nations will play a five-match T20 International series followed by three one-dayers at Nairobi Gymkhana Cricket Grounds.
According to a press statement issued August 23, the games between Kenya and Nepal, who are visiting the East African nation for the first time, will be free for fans to watch.
Kenya are fresh from playing in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League B fixtures held last week in Jersey. Kenya tied with Uganda and Hong Kong on 12 points to finish joint runners-up to Jersey who won the event with 18 points.
Nepal arrived in Nairobi on Tuesday, August 23 with a star-studded squad that includes star leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane as their captain. Players Gyanendra Malla, Shahab Alam and Bibek Yadav have marked their comeback to the national team, whilst young wicketkeeper-batter Arjun Saud has earned a maiden call-up to the national side. Nepal had a dismal campaign in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League II and will hope to turn the tables against Kenya.
