Mbarara 1 KCCA 1
There was no Valentine’s Day gift for KCCA FC, at least in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. KCCA blew the chance to cut Vipers lead on top to a single point after drawing one-all with Mbarara City FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League match played on Sunday, February 13 at Kakyeka stadium.
Arafat Usama scored to put KCCA into the lead before Jude Ssemugabi netted the equalizer for Mbarara.
The result leaves KCCA in second place, with 36 points from 17 games. A win against Mbarara would have seen KCCA close the gap to one point on leaders Vipers, who have 39 points from 17 games.
However, KCCA coach Morley Byekwaso downplayed the impact of the result on his team, arguing that the league is ‘a marathon, so we shall keep pushing to get more points in other games.’
The league takes a one-day break and resumes Tuesday, February 15.
