KAMPALA: Martha Babirye won the Uganda Golf Club Ladies Open after defeating Peace Kabasweka in a sudden-death playoff at Uganda Golf Club, Kitante.
The four day competition is being held to prepare participants for the Uganda Open, which will be held next week in Entebbe. Babirye, the defending Uganda Open champion, matched Kabasweka at 231 Gross before returning for the sudden death.
Babirye is currently aiming to win the Uganda Open for the third time in a row. Over 100 golfers competed in the tournament, which was won by Ronald Rugumayo in the professional category.
