KAMPALA: Speaker of Parliament- Anita Annet Among has congratulated Andrew Oulanyah upon being declared the winner of the Omoro by-election. Oulanyah will replace his father Jacob Oulanyah as a Member of Parliament for Omoro County, Omoro district.
“Congratulations my son @AndrewOulanyah! I also congratulate the people of Omoro for exercising their democratic rights. We pray for wisdom and God’s blessings upon you as you serve his people,” he said.
Returning Officer for Omoro District Moses Kagona on Thursday, May 26 declared Andrew Ojok Oulanyah as the candidate who obtained the largest number of votes for the position of Directly elected Member of Parliament, Omoro County, Omoro District.
Among was earlier this year (March) elected Speaker of the 11th Parliament after the death of former Speaker and Member of Parliament for Omoro County- Jacob Oulanyah.
During the Omoro district campaign for Ojok Andrew Oulanyah, where President Yoweri K. Museveni blessed Andrew Oulanyah, Museveni said Oulanyah showed good leadership. “To my Muzukulu Ojok, these people are not sending you but they are sending Oulanyah back. If you do well, next time they will now send Ojok,” he added.
