“Beatrice [Akello] may be a Member of Parliament, but if you [Kenneth Orik] love her right then she will lower herself down from that position and love you whole-heartedly. Respect in marriage will be the key to your successful and fruitful marriage,” said Tayebwa, who was representing the Speaker of Parliament at the wedding.

The Deputy Speaker lauded the MPs for the solidarity to support fellow legislators during times of sorrow and happiness.

“I thank you Members for the solidarity you have exhibited. Some of you have just returned with me from the burial of Hon. Margaret Ayebare’s husband in Mbarara district and now you are here for Beatrice’s wedding. Let us maintain this spirit of togetherness,” he said.

Tayebwa later handed over the Speaker’s token of Shs10 million to support the new couple in their marriage. He also presented his personal contribution of Shs5 million.
