MASINDI: Absa Bank Uganda has donated I.T equipment worth UGX 131 million to the Uganda Police Training School Kabalye in Masindi district.
The equipment included 10 laptops, 60 desktops, a projector and internet connection for the school’s resource center.
The donation was received by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Katsigazi Tumusiime from Absa Bank Uganda’s Managing Director- Mumba Kalifungwa.
While receiving the donation on Friday, May 20, 2022, the DIGP noted that, the Uganda Police is committed to prioritizing professionalism by pursuing the duty of ensuring safety and security of Ugandans. He added that the police will continue to harness the use of technology and increase the capacity of human resources by integrating ICT in the execution of their duties.
In his remarks, Gen. Tumusiime also thanked and appreciated Absa for the kind gesture and cooperation with the Uganda Police Force.
Also at the occasion, Mumba Kalifungwa, Managing Director Absa bank Uganda revealed that Absa leverage its digitally forward ambition by investing in technology platforms that support the improved delivery of social services.
Therefore by supporting the Uganda Police Training School in Kabalye, Absa bank is assured that this is one of the many ways through which it can create value and play a shaping role in Uganda’s growth and sustainability as Police ensures that new recruits in the force are adequately trained and ready to serve the nation.
