The Papal Nuncio to Uganda Luigi Bianco on Wednesday started his papal visit to Gulu Archdiocese.
Bianco started his journey from Adjumani and later held a prayer on Tuesday at the Arua diocese before proceeding to Gulu Archdiocese in Gulu City.
On Wednesday he was welcomed by hundreds of believers who gathered at the St Joseph`s Cathedral Church in Gulu City at Gulu Archdiocese where he held a prayer.
Papal Nuncio Luigi was welcomed by the Most Rev. John Baptist Odama, the Archbishop of Gulu, clergies, and believers as they sang songs of joy.
While presiding over the mass from St Joseph`s Cathedral Church, Papal Nuncio Luigi urged Christians to take responsible parenthood, have a love for one another, and seek peace in conflict-torn environments.
Hundreds of the Christians that flocked to the church struggled to get a glance and touch the Papal Nuncio saying that they want to receive blessings for their households.
Rev. Father Lawrence Michael Komakech, the Parish Priest of St Joseph`s Cathedral Parish said during the visit that they are grateful to Pope Francis and asked him to pray for the people of Gulu Archdiocese.
He then proceeded to Kitgum district and will later pay a visit to Paimol Marty’s Shrine in Agago district before setting off for Kampala on Thursday.
