HOIMA: The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah has joined other leaders to sensitize the Hoima oil city community on the Parish Development Model.
During the meeting held at Kitara SS, leaders pointed out the mobile nature of city residents as a major challenge in identifying suitable beneficiaries.
The Premier in her response assured leaders of the government’s commitment to addressing all the identified challenges as soon as possible to enable the much-anticipated PDM to take off and meet its intended objectives.
She warned the rich against infiltrating the list of beneficiaries emphasizing that the program is purely intended to benefit the poor that fall within the 39% of Ugandans who fall in the non-cash economy category.
Finance Minister Matia Kasaija said the government has set aside adequate funds to implement the Programme.
This is part of the ongoing sensitization meetings for key players across the Country.
The sensitization meeting was attended by Transport State Minister Fred Byamukama, Mary Grace Mugasa for public service, area MPs, local leaders, and technocrats.
Later the Premier Joined Mityana district leaders on the same campaign.
