BUSIA: State House Anti-Corruption Unit in liaison with the Uganda police on Friday afternoon arrested 12 suspects attached to Busia Municipality. The suspects were accused of neglect of duty and causing financial loss to government amounting to Ugx850million all related to the mismanagement of Busia Main Market.

They include, Town Ronald Clerk Baganzi and his Deputy Johnson Wafuba, Municipal Production Officer Dr. Joakim Serunkuuma, Chief Finance Officer Wycliffe Chimulwa, Commercial Officer John Ekwaru, Engineering officer Wafula Fred, Western Division Town Clerk Pascal Moya, Division Treasurer Alfred Okuku, Procurement Officer Maliza Nabwiire, Acting Municipal Engineer Paul Wabwiire and Principal Health Supervisor Moses Okurut. Okurut’s assistant a one Mulimba James is still at large.

Also in Busia, the Anti-Corruption Unit arraigned Edward Olweny at Busia Chief Magistrates Court on charges of theft of government property valued at Ugx400million.
