Welcome to another day of enjoyable and experiential learning. Early Risers Club Uganda mentors and counsels children aged 8 to 18 about their careers.
We support children in discovering their authentic selves and realising their full potential. We enable children to pursue a career that aligns with their interests, talents, and abilities. This is accomplished through career counselling, life skills training, educational excursions, and mentoring. A few years ago, we started a book club.
The book club’s purpose is to help children improve their reading and writing skills. According to the 2019 IPA Global Publishing Statistics, Africa represents only 1.4% of the total book market.
The question is: who tells the African story? How will the world know Africa if we don’t write about our experiences and perspectives? The Book Club aims to help close this gap by teaching children how to write and read.
We will conduct a tour of Vision Group on January 25th, 2024 at 10:00am to introduce them to the company’s operations.
Learn about Vision Group’s products for children and how they can participate and benefit. Appreciate journalism as a career.
The children will also tour the country’s biggest bookstore (Aristoc), and we expect each child to get a book of their choice, read it, and share what they have learned. Other activities at Royal Suites Bugolobi include cake cutting, swimming, games and sports, as well as meals and drinks.
We invite all children to join us on this day. A day of fun and experiential learning. Each participant is expected to contribute Ugx, 100,000/= (one hundred thousand shillings) for this activity. If possible, parents should also give their children some pocket money so they can buy a book of their choice.
We look forward to living life together as we begin the new year 2024.
