KAMPALA: Uganda’s leading private university, Kampala International University (KIU) will host a grand International Research and Development Conference, themed, “African Leadership and Development Challenges: The Role of Research, Innovation and New Technologies”.
The four-day conference running from Tuesday, October 17 to Saturday, October 21, 2023 is expected to gather scholars from all over the world to showcase ground-breaking research presentations and share ideas.
According to the Conference Chairperson and Director KIU Directorate of Higher Degrees and Research (DHDR), Prof. Israel Obaroh, “the international conference is an avenue to gather scholars in different specializations to discuss contemporary issues, with the view to proffer possible solutions to enormous challenges that confront Africa continent and most of the third world. It promises to be intellectually engaging.”
The Conference was categorized into sub-themes ranging from; STEM, Agriculture, Humanities, Economics, Arts and Culture, Health Sciences, Education, Engineering, Public Policy and Governance.
Spearheading discussions in the conference, Professor Waswa Balunywa, the Director, Balunywa Foundation and Leadership Academy will deliver the keynote speech.
The selected panelists are Dr. Peter Samuels, Senior Lecturer/Director of Business Administration Department, Birmingham University, UK; Professor Paul Ugor, Department of English, University of Waterloo, Canada, and Assoc. Prof. Janice D. Busingye, DVC Finance and Adminstration, KIU.
Participants are expected to join from United Kingdom, Canada, Nigeria, Kenya, Somalia, and Cameroon.
This conference will be one of KIU’s numerous achievements and most significantly, this well thought-out and planned conference will present KIU Postgraduate students with a golden opportunity to interact with the research community and a range of professors around the globe.
