KEGEGWA: An accident in Kyasitiri along the Kyenjojo_Kyegegwa Highway, has claimed five lives and left eight more severely injured.

The fatal accident that transpired on Thursday morning involved Motor vehicle Registration No. UBK077S Toyota Hiace (drone).

Kyegegwa territorial police identified the five deceased persons as Herbert Byamukama (46), Consolata Katusabe (47) and a male juvenile only identified as Agondeze, all residents of Kyaduri Kyenjojo District and two un indentified male adults.

The injured are Nabagereka (59) a resident of Hesi – Bunyangabo District, Asaba Bibohere (44) a resident of Kyarusozi – Kyenjojo District, Noah Katesigwa Noah (45) a resident of Kyaduri – Kyenjojo District, Sam Wabaire (32) a resident of Rweza – Makindye Sssbsgabo, Junior Samuel (20) a resident of Mugusu – Bunyangabo District, Fatuma Atuhaire (32) a resident of Mabira Kyaduri – Kyenjojo District, and Juliet Kemigabo (27) a resident of Kicucu – Bunyangabo District.

“They were all rushed to Mubende referral Hospital for further Management, while the bodies of the deceased conveyed at Kyegegwa Hospital mortuary for post mortem,” said the Traffic Police Spokesperson- ASP Faridah Nampiima.

Nampiima attributed the fatal accident to a tyre burst.
