The wife of former Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament Wafula Oguttu has died.
Alice Oguttu, 61, died on Saturday night from Three Rivers Cancer facility in Old Kampala after losing the battle to cancer. She had last year taken to India for specialized medical attention.
According to Wafula Oguttu’s party, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), the body of the deceased will this Sunday evening be brought to their residence at Martyr’s Way, Ntinda, for a church service and overnight vigil.
On Monday, a church service will be held at St. Luke C.O.U in Ntinda, followed by the departure of the funeral procession to Saanika village, located in Nankoma sub-county, Bugiri District.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Rt. Hon.Wafula Oguttu and his entire family during this onerous time,” FDC said in a statement.
The President’s Press Secretary, Dr Kenneth Omona, condoled with Oguttu.
“Hon Philip Wa @WafulaPhilip5, our hearts are with you and your family. May the good Lord give you strength and comfort and also rest the soul of your dear wife Alice Oguttu , in the dwelling of eternal peace,” he tweeted on Sunday.
