The battle for the Jinja College (JICO) Old Boys Football League title resumes on Saturday, May 27 with the penultimate round of Match-day Six games at the Volta Arena in Kyanja,
The six-aside JICO League features 14 teams, which are allowed to field one female player of their choice to achieve the competition’s main objectives of networking and socializing among the college’s former students.
Currently, it is a three-horse race for the title with table leaders Nvuuyo FC on 25 points from 10 games followed by Solida FC at 23 points and Mboyo FC on 22 points in third place.

On Saturday, the biggest game will be the top-of-the-table clash between Nvuuyo and Solida FC in the evening. Nvuuyo will warm up with a game against bottom Kaswandi FC while Solida play Nvuluga FC.
However, Kaswandi, who are bankrolled by TheKampala Report, have warned Nvuuyo to expect a tough battle.
“We are not going to be just pushovers; they [Nvuuyo] should know we want to win against the best and this is a very good chance for us,” Opio Katandi, one of the technical officials of Kaswandi FC, stated.

Meanwhile, organisers of the JICO League added a campfire experience on Friday (May 26) night as one of the activities to spice up match-day six.
“The first edition [of the campfire activity] will be free, simply get your tent or rent. We shall allocate spaces,” Nakwagala, one of the league organizing officials, explained.
In the past match-days, fans enjoyed fun-filled entertainment with lots of music, rap competition, drinks, food and board games such as chess and Ludo.
Nakwagala also disclosed this Saturday, May 27 is going to be a market day where all JICO Old Boys will exhibit and advertise their businesses free of charge.
