Uganda Cranes will begin preps for their next Africa Cup of Nations Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Algeria with a build-up match against the Eastern Region Select X1 on May 30.

The match, which is part of Cranes’ regional tours aimed at popularising the sport, will be played at the Irundu primary school playground, Buyende district.

Accordingly Cranes coach Milutin Sredojevic Micho named a provisional squad of 32 players from the domestic StarTimes Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League to prepare for the game against Eastern Region.

Coach Micho released a provisional Uganda Cranes squad eastern region tour on Wednesday, May 24

The Cranes will play Algeria on June 18 in Cameroon in the 2023 AFCON qualifier, which was shifted to the West African nation due to lack of any CAF-approved stadium in Uganda.
