Skipper Milton Karisa scored a late solitary winning goal for Vipers in the 1-0 victory over KCCA FC on Friday night in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League match at the St Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
With this victory, Vipers displaces KCCA from second place on better goal difference. Both Vipers and KCCA have 45 points but the former have a goal-difference of 20 compared to the latter’s 15.
Vipers have also played 23 games compared to KCCA’s 24, hence the Venoms now boast of better chances in the title race.
SC Villa lead the 15-team table with 46 points from 25 games. That means Vipers are now one point behind Villa with two games in hand.
Vipers and SC Villa will play next games on Tuesday, May 9 against Bright Stars and Blacks Power FC respectively.
