Uganda Cup holders, BUL FC, progressed to the last-16 round of this year’s tournament on Saturday, March 11 after beating SC Villa in a replay at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. Ibrahim Nsimbe scored BUL’s solitary winning goal in the game.

BUL will now play Onduparaka FC in the round-of-16 game due later this week in Arua.

Saturday’s replay followed a controversial decision by the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel after reviewing the first game played on February 17. BUL had won the game 1-0 but the FUFA body ruled that Villa was denied an equalizer by one of the assistant referees.

Meanwhile, BUL FC’s cup winning coach Alex Isabirye bade an emotional farewell after Saturday’s game as he prepares to join league champions Vipers SC this week.
