KAMPALA — A security breach at the home of Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has rattled the leadership of Parliament.
The breach, according to highly placed sources happened on Friday December 16 night (wee hours of Saturday morning), at the tightly guarded home of the deputy speaker, in one of Kampala’s upscale neighbourhoods.
It is said that some unknown person’s accessed the home and took away some property.
Deputy Speaker Tayebwa was at home at the time of the breach, sources said.
Nobody in the deputy speaker’s family was hurt, but it is understood the incident has rattled the leadership of Parliament with Speaker Anita Annet Among immediately ordering for the withdrawal of the police guard to be replaced by the military.
Speaker Among is due to address a press conference soon, to give more details about the issue.
