KCCA FC beat Busoga United 2-1 on Friday (December 16) to open up a five-point gap on top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.

Goals by Julius Poloto and Congolese import Kankonde Tshisungu propelled KCCA to victory in a closely-contested game at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

With this victory, KCCA lead the 16-team table standings with 29 points from 13 games played so far. Second-placed Vipers (with 24 points from 12 games) have a chance to cut KCCA’s lead to two points if they beat BUL FC on Saturday, December 17.

Vipers, who are the league defending champions, will host BUL at the St Mary’s stadium in a tricky game. BUL, also on 24 points from 12 games, are in third position and have proved to be one of Vipers’ bogey sides.

Former champions SC Villa, who also in the chasing pack, could reduce KCCA’s gap to three points on Saturday if they beat URA FC. The game between URA FC and the Jogoos will be played at the Nakisunga playground.
