URA FC v Vipers
It was not the kind of result SC Villa expected in their first of the five StarTimes Uganda Premier League matches behind closed doors in Lira, but KCCA FC struck them ruthlessly in the 3-0 defeat on Friday, November 25 at the Akii-Bua memorial stadium.
An own goal from Gift Fred, Kagawa Ssenoga and Moses Waiswa earned KCCA maximum points to move from sixth to third place on the 16-team league table standings. KCCA now have 16 points from eight games.
SC Villa dropped to sixth place with 14 points from nine games so far.
Last week, the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel banned Villa’s homeground at Wankulukuku and docked them points their fans attacked match officials during the 1-2 loss to Wakiso Giants FC on November 15.
The Jogoos charged for actions of hooliganism, imposed a five-match ban on their home ground and docked them two points and two goals. The decision was a big setback to Villa’s ambition of winning the league title after 18 years.
Meanwhile the league continues Saturday, November 26 with defending champions Vipers SC playing against former champions URA FC at the Nakisunga playground.
