St Lawrence University qualified for their second consecutive Pepsi University Football League (UFL) final after beating Makerere University Business School (MUBS) 3-0 on Tuesday, November 1 in Nakawa in the second leg of their semifinal tie.
That means St Lawrence will play against Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) Nkozi in the final scheduled for November 12 at the Philip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
In Tuesday’s game, Michael Kayongo and Bruno Bunyaga scored for St Lawrence before MUBS captain Herbert Abima added an own goal. St Lawrence advanced on a 5-1 aggregate victory, having won the first leg 2-1 in Kavule a week ago.
This is the second final consecutive final for Coach Nnono Ssozi’s St Lawrence side. Last year, St Lawrence lost 1-2 to Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono in the final.
Nkozi reached the final for the first time since 2017 after eliminating defending champions UCU 5-4 in the post-match penalties after a 1-1 draw on aggregate in their semifinal tie.
