KCCA 1 Vipers 0

Arua Hill 3 Maroons 1

KCCA FC coach Morley Byekwaso praised his team’s character after beating champions Vipers 1-0 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League match on Saturday, October 22.

Rogers Mato scored the solitary winner for KCCA at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

“My players showed great character and defended well throughout the game. This is a clear message that we cannot be written off as title contenders,”Byekwaso said in his post-match comments.

This is KCCA’s second victory in three matches of the season so far. In earlier games, KCCA lost once (1-3 to Arua Hill) and beat Wakiso Giants 3-2.

Vipers, the defending champions, are yet to win a league game this season. They drew 0-0 with Bright Stars FC in their season opener.

Meanwhile, Arua Hill defeated Maroons 3-1 in the other match played on Saturday at Barifa stadium in Arua.
