Following their surprise semifinal triumph over the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), Ugandan champions She Corporate FC will be out to defy odds against Tanzania’s Simba Queens FC in in the final of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League qualifier for the CECAFA Zone.
The highly-billed final is set for Saturday (August 27) at the Chimazi stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
On Wednesday, August 24, She Corporate ejected CBE 2-1 in a closely-contested semifinal. And, in a pre-final media briefing on Friday (August 26), Charles Ayiekoh, the She Corporate coach, warned that his side has the tactics to beat Simba in the final.
“We know what to do to be able to stop them; and I can assure you we have a very good plan for the game,” Ayiekoh stated.
The eventual champion of the regional qualifier tournament will represent CECAFA in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
To reach the final, Simba Queens thumped Rwanda’s AS Kigali WFC 5-1 in the other semifinal match played late Wednesday.
Before the final, CBE and AS Kigali will battle for the third place in the losers’ match.
