Former champions Jas Mangat, Ronald Ssebuguzi and reigning champion Duncan ‘Kikankane’ Mubiru will be centre of attraction in the Bwera Bristol Southern Motor Club (SMC) Rally slated for Saturday, August 6 to Sunday 7 in parts of Greater Masaka districts.
Twenty-six drivers have so far registered for the two-day rally.
Mangat, who has only competed once locally, has 140 points from Pearl of Africa Uganda rally. He will be vying for maximum points in the SMC Rally.
Kikankane is yet win any rally this year and has only collected 25points, and being the defending champion, he enters SMC rally with pressure on him.
Ssebuguzi has not collected any points so far this year and is still mastering his new Ford Fiesta that has only done the recent Fort Portal rally in Uganda.
Homeboy and former two-time NRC champion, Ponsiano Lwakataka, is expected to give stiff competition to the trio of Mangat, Ssebuguzi and Kikankane in the rally.

Currently, Lwakataka leads the NRC title race with 262 points followed by Umar Dauda and Jonas Kansiime at 178 and 141 points respectively.
The 151km SMC event has four sections including two runs of the Super Special stage of two kilometres each in Kako.
