The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) will host Bugema University when the Pepsi University Football League (UFL) resumes after a one-day break on Sunday, June 19.

The Group F encounter will be played at the IUIU campus grounds in Mbale.

Meanwhile, former champions Uganda Christian University (UCU) defeated the International University of East Africa (IUEA) 3-1 on Friday, June 17 to book their place in the knockout phase of the league.

David Mbalaga, Isaac Ofoywroth and Derrick Tenywa scored the goals for UCU while Jordan Lingaya got IUEA’s consolation in the game played in Kansanga.

UCU was completing a double-over IUEA given that they had thrashed them 4-1 in the reverse fixture played in Mukono in April.

The victory took UCU top of Group A with 13 points, and the Mukono-based university advance to the quarterfinals. Second-placed Kumi University, who have collected 10 points, still have a chance to advance with a game left until the group stages climax.

On the other hand, IUEA remained bottom of the standings without any point after five games and out of the competition along with third- placed Victoria University, who are on six points.
