Former radio presenter Alexander Ndawula has passed on.
Ndawula died at Nsambya Hospital where he had been admitted. Details of the cause of death were yet to be released by press time but he is said to have succumbed to multiple organ failure, according to hospital sources.
Sources close to the legendary presenter also said he has been in and out of hospital over the last year.
Ndawula Muchachos signed out of 91.3 Capital FM in 2017 after nearly 20 years at the helm of radio presenting.
Ndawula was not only admired for his incredible radio presenting skills, but also mastery of music mixing, more notably his Saturday music show the “Dance Force”.
At the time of retirement, the popular Dj was presenting two shows; “Sundowner” and his renowned Saturday mix show, “The Dance Force”.
Ndawula briefly joined Ntinda-based Jazz FM, and co-hosted an evening show with another veteran presenter, Christine Mawadri.
Mawadri, after leaving Capital FM, joined Monitor FM, now KFM, from where she later joined Zuku TV as the country director. She has been the Jazz FM station manager.
Ndawula began his radio career at Sanyu FM in 1993 and later joined Capital FM in 1994.
Tributes started to flow in from many of his fans,
Lilian Mbabazi, an artiste, tweeted: “Very sad News about Alex Ndawula… Rest well. You paved the way for so many on air…. May God receive you with open arms.”
